Yep… another post

Well the weekend is all but over for me.  I am off to work in the morning, and I was told this evening that the “big boss” is in town and will be in the store in the morning.  He is a very nice man, and it will be sad to see him retire at the end of the month… I just hope the new person they hire is just as good.

Sunday was Ted and my 6th year anniversary.  We went to Outback for a late lunch early dinner and then came home to mow the yard.  It was a beautiful day to be outside.

Last night we had someone ding dong ditch us… scared the crap out of me because the dogs freaked the heck out… Ted went to the door and no-one was there but when Stella went out the back door and barked he heard someone running… Darn teenagers…

Today we had a nice visit with “J” at the zoo… he was so excited.  He really did not want to go back or leave us… but the day had to come to and end… I am looking forward to Saturday when we can see him again… or hopefully he will be back home.

Cody is 6 months old…he is growing up so fast…today I saw Kendra going into work and I tried to catch her attention but was unable to. I was going to find out how the pictures turned out… I am sure they are adorable… he is such a cute little boy…

Marty and Melinda will celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary in a little more than a week… it is hard to beleive that they have been married that long, and they are grandparents… wow time is just flying by…

An UPDATE!!!!

Wow it has been an entire year since I posted a blog… Pretty sad if you ask me.  Many Many things have happened in the last year.  Shane became a legal Pafundi in October… We have another little boy which we consider our son… but because of some really bad issues he is not with us right now… I really hope that changes soon… I miss my little man a bunch.  Everyday he brought a smile to my face, made me laugh and although everyday was not a walk in the park… we fell in love with him and need him to return home.

My uncles had their auction this last weekend.  They sold the Hoppe Shop in Wausa Nebraska… they are now retired… I know it is time for them to retire and enjoy their lives but it just reminds me that I am getting older, because I remember when they built the new shop and moved over there.  I remember the party, and how my black dress shoes clicked on the new cement, and if you screamed it would echo a little… FUN kid stuff at the time…

Ted is working overnights right now… which really stinks… because it really screws up his diabetes, and his mood.

Ted just made me laugh extremely hard… just think about this… we are sitting on the couch, Anika our American Bulldog, is laying next to him with her head next to him.  He starts to play with her ear, and she flips and stands her ear up like she was flicking a fly, you could tell it made him go hee hee inside so he tried to make it do it again, but this time he sticks his finger in her ear… and pulls it out just to have a big ear goobey on the end…he runs to the sink in the kitchen all the while gagging… I had tears running down my face.. have not laughed like that in a long time…

well this is long enough for now… hopefully I will take the time and update it more often… not like anyone really reads this… but, hey, it is an outlet for me to vent if I need too… :0)

State Fair

Loads of fun was had by all…

Today we decided to head to the State Fair.  “S” had a friend stay the night last night and he joined us on our trip to Lincoln.  We did not know this would be his first time at the fair… it was allot of fun.  After we left the fair we ate dinner at Hu Hot… YUMMY food…

We are a step closer to adoption… YIPPEEE!!!  Our lawyer will take the paperwork to file at the courthouse on Tuesday… and then… date set and then… another LEGAL Pafundi!!!

We will be having a BBQ Monday.  My parents will be coming over.  Tuesday is my moms birthday.

Ooopps

Yesterday I was asked if I would help out and take a detail to the Grocery Managers Position.  My first reaction was wow…and then it was there is no way… I can’t work nights right now, I can not commit the hours the current manager is putting in, I have obligations to my son.  May sound strange but being a mom is a wonderful feeling (at times I would question that statement).  I have made a commitment to him, and my husband that I would be at home (as much as possible) at night to help with the homework, and care for “s”.

After I pleaded my case, Mr. T told me that he would not expect me to put in the hours that Judy does, and he would work with me with the schedule.  Once I heard this I told him I would do what I could to help Judy out.  I figured with the Workforce of the future coming to our store next June, and NSPS coming in April… might be a good thing to get as much information and knowledge so that when the changes do happen, I have more to work with on my resume…

“S” started school last week, and he started playing football… he is super excited about playing.  I guess he got tackled a couple times today and when I asked him if it hurt… he smiled and said no… He said that Jerad told him to knock his a** to the ground and not worry about hurting him.  This kid is notorious for not being tackled and he encourages other kids to knock him to the ground.

It is amazing what playing a school sport can do for a kid… He has more self esteem… and loves playing football…

Now if I could figure out a way to create a couple more hours at night for homework, or figure out a way to teach a teenager time management… he is going to be up forever doing homework tonight… which means a rough morning waking him up…

But that is a part of being a parent…. late nights and early mornings… guess partying as a High Schooler and early in your 20’s teaches you how to work with little to no sleep.

Life moving on down the track..

Today we went on the Fremont Dinner Train… We participated in a Murder Mystery…I really enjoyed it… it was nice to do something different as a family and with Ted’s mom.

“S” started school last week and also started playing football. He seems excited about both… I hope he enjoys football and can maybe get involved with other kids his age… and be able to do more things kids his age should be doing. He was a little bored over the summer since most of the kids around us were not home.

Next weekend we have a wedding to go to. This will be the first wedding Ted and I have been to together as a married couple. I am looking forward to it.
