Today we decided to head to the State Fair.  “S” had a friend stay the night last night and he joined us on our trip to Lincoln.  We did not know this would be his first time at the fair… it was allot of fun.  After we left the fair we ate dinner at Hu Hot… YUMMY food…

We are a step closer to adoption… YIPPEEE!!!  Our lawyer will take the paperwork to file at the courthouse on Tuesday… and then… date set and then… another LEGAL Pafundi!!!

We will be having a BBQ Monday.  My parents will be coming over.  Tuesday is my moms birthday.

After I pleaded my case, Mr. T told me that he would not expect me to put in the hours that Judy does, and he would work with me with the schedule.  Once I heard this I told him I would do what I could to help Judy out.  I figured with the Workforce of the future coming to our store next June, and NSPS coming in April… might be a good thing to get as much information and knowledge so that when the changes do happen, I have more to work with on my resume…

“S” started school last week, and he started playing football… he is super excited about playing.  I guess he got tackled a couple times today and when I asked him if it hurt… he smiled and said no… He said that Jerad told him to knock his a** to the ground and not worry about hurting him.  This kid is notorious for not being tackled and he encourages other kids to knock him to the ground.

It is amazing what playing a school sport can do for a kid… He has more self esteem… and loves playing football…

Now if I could figure out a way to create a couple more hours at night for homework, or figure out a way to teach a teenager time management… he is going to be up forever doing homework tonight… which means a rough morning waking him up…

But that is a part of being a parent…. late nights and early mornings… guess partying as a High Schooler and early in your 20’s teaches you how to work with little to no sleep.

“S” started school last week and also started playing football. He seems excited about both… I hope he enjoys football and can maybe get involved with other kids his age… and be able to do more things kids his age should be doing. He was a little bored over the summer since most of the kids around us were not home.

Next weekend we have a wedding to go to. This will be the first wedding Ted and I have been to together as a married couple. I am looking forward to it.

I got the results from my CT scan today… everything looked “normal” or within normal ranges.  Not that I really want something to be wrong… but there has to be a reason for what has been going on with me… Guess we will wait and see.

Anika keeps coming up to me and barking… she wants me to go to bed, yes she has a bed time, and I am not ready… It is amazing how animals get into a routine and if you deviate from it in any shape or form, it throughs them for a loop and takes a while for them to get over it… Usually Anika doesn’t… she just takes a crap and lets me know she is not a happy puppy… If she did not have such a big part of my heart… I am sure my husband would boot her to the sunroom and / or outside.

Our son has an issue with time…We give him specific instructions to be home at a specific time and most of the time we will here excuses as to why it did not happen… May not seem like a big deal especially since we sometimes will joke about Mormons being late and never on time… We have provided him 2 different watches, a cell phone… several clocks, several phones and various reminders… and still LATE!!!

Found out that the teens mouth, and ears are a little big and the messages while going to the brain, get totally screwed up, and the neurons and electrons are not functioning quite right… he was walking with the girl that lives on our street, when she asked him some questions about “w”… well, He decided he could answer those questions and make it like he knew what he was talking about…  using bits and pieces of things my husband and I talk about and put a little twist on them… He totally got stuff wrong, and I know that I will be hearing about everything later when I am asked a bunch of questions.  when I told him that the things he talks about will get back to others… he got big eyes and I think he realizes that he was in the wrong… and will have to live with the consequences of his actions…

life with a teen is a roller coaster…

Ted got news on both sides today… his cholesterol is down, but his diabetes is completely out of control…and he may have to go on insulin for a while. I am nervous about the results, but will be glad when they/we can get this thing under control.  Which is going to be hard to accomplish with the schedules Ted is going to be working over the next few months.
Ted took the ford to Beatrice today for the warranty work, and because it was making a strange sound on the front end. I was leary of him going alone since we did not know what was really wrong… so I followed him. While the Ford was being worked on, we went to see “S” mentor from when he lived in Bennington. She is a very nice lady. She and “S” share the same date for birthdays. She thinks allot fo S.

I miss hearing kids laughter, and playing together.  When we had 2 kids it was nice to be upstairs and hear them laughing and giggling downstairs.

“S” is showing interest in learning more about LDS.  I am ok with that, but I do have some reservations… 1.  I want him to be fully aware of what LDS is and the beliefs.  2.  I want him to be able to say why he want to join and be baptised.  I dont want him to just do it to do it.  3.  I would like him to explore other religions before he sets his mind to one.  He has not had much experience with religion and I feel that he will go with just about anything right now.

We had the July Birthday dinner with the family, or at least some of the family.  My brother Scott’s family could not be there due to prior commitments.  It mad me sad that they could not be there.. I have not seen my niece or nephews in a LONG time… and I miss them…But I understand they have a busy lifestyle going on right now and can not be at many family functions.

My other brother Shawn was there as were my mom, dad, “S”, and Ted.  It was an enjoyable dinner…I wish we could have more family dinners like we used to, before everyones lives became too busy…

When we got home the painters were here and got one side of the house done… I knew I picked a darker color… but wow… is it darker…

One side of the house is painted and the fence is almost finished being stained.  I hope we get all of this stuff done and then also get the landscaping stuff finished off so we can enjoy the end of summer out in the sun.

I have not heard from “W” in a while.  I did get an email wishing me a Happy B-Day which was nice of him to remember.  His  best friend came home this weekend, and she was out with “S” this evening… she told Ted that she and “W” are talking everyday… so I am VERY HAPPY for that.  At least he still has her as a constant in his life.  She is an AWESOME girl and I am so happy they became friends… She seems to understand him, and is able to be there for him no matter what…

It is back to work tomorrow.  I really wish I felt better… I am feeling like crap.  I have had a headache for 2 days.  Nothing seems to help it at all.  I even wore my glasses all day today… and it is still there…

I am suppose to go to a meeting in Grand Island in the morning… but I have chosen to skip it and just stay in town.  for one it is as I said earlier… too damn hot…and two, I would not be compensated for the gas it takes, and with gas so expensive right now… I would rather go someplace maybe this weekend. 

I wish I would have said something to Ted earlier about trying to get Friday off to spend with me.  But, I know it is a little too late to ask and it would put a hardship on his office to be one man down.

I am watching Miami Ink…wow there are some pretty awesome tatoo’s out there… I have thought about it… but as always… I am scared about getting one done…when I finally do go for it…many people will be shocked…

I have been keeping my thoughts about some stuff going on in my life and around me to myself.  I hate getting into arguments, and really dislike it when I can’t express myself as I want to.  Well, a few things that have been bothering me came out today, and if you read Ted’s blog you know some of it.  I need to learn how to express my thoughts in a more productive manner, and not let things build up to an explosive venting.

My mom called me tonight and got very upset with me.  She found out that I was moving our little shed all by myself.  I did not mean to upset her, but I need to try to get some of this stuff done as I can.  Yes I probably should have waited, but when I went out to get the stain info Ted needed, I was just motivated enough to move it… so I did… When Ted got home, I showed him what I did and he seemed ok that I did it…so guess I got away with this one…

I will attempt to blog more often… I stopped because of a really stupid reason… and Ted called me on it… so I will work on it.

I am still having dreams about W.  I am worried about him, but I need to let he and his “new dad” get to know each other.  I really hope he knows how much we care about him. 

My mother in law lives in a Villa.  This area is growing so much, and very expensive.  the pool is right across the street and hopefully we will be able to spend some time at the pool.   

Yesterday when we did allot of running around.  Today S and Ted both had optical appointments.  We got S contacts, and Ted got 2 pairs of glasses, one was clear and the others were sunglasses. 

S is so happy, he was walking taller, and was being such a young man.  He just got back from swimming at the pool.  He has been helping grandma do stuff.  He even stated that he would like to go to church with her in the morning. 

We might go the Six Flags tonight or Sunday night, depends on the weather.  It has basically been raining or misty the entire time we have been here.   Monday we are going to the zoo and to a couple museums and Tuesday it is back home to the real world.  YUCK!!!
